Christmas cards from the past

Christmas cards this year? A little behind the ball on that one. Luckily with technology these days I can get it done pretty fast once I decide what to do. In the meantime, a trip down memory lane. Wow how time flies!

Easier!

I really have no idea what excuse I should try to use for not putting up a post in so long. My kids have reached that age where, life recently got "EASIER." Amazing that they are now helping out around the house a little bit, folding some of their own clothes, picking up after themselves, and making their own breakfast! Of course, I will have to attribute this to the better parent in the household -- Mel's drill Sargent techniques have worked over time. A lucky side effect for the boys is that they are definitely gaining some muscles due to all the push ups. I'm still the one that "caves" giving in to whining when asked for ice cream after the evening deadline and "Fine, you can have a pop, but that's the only one this weekend!"
So many things to be grateful for! As I look through pictures from the last few months, I'm amazed that these kids are so healthy and confident and such individuals! (not to mention smelly once in a while) They love each other and they hate each other-- several times a day.

School year 2010/2010 - Evan 11 (6th grade), Dominic 8 (2nd grade)

Evan is a fierce competitor and actually likes the stage. I've been shuttling him to piano lessons, play rehearsals, and sporting events.

Upward Flag football was a great Fall sport this year!

And sweet Dominic is always there for us with a smile! He was very supportive of his teammates during the football season.

He also loves hanging out with his cousins. Here he is with Mo just shootin' the breeze. Can't you just picture them in college some day? They'll be the porch sitters.

So with this new "easier" life one may ask what I've been doing? Well, enjoying not having to do as much! I thought it was so funny one evening this summer when I caught Mel sleeping in the evening sun after spending time in the yard pruning. Later that evening, he got me back! Hopefully, I'm rested up now. More to follow.
